Jackson Middle School Choirs

Jackson Middle School (JMS) is a Leonard Bernstein School of Artful Learning, located in Portland, Oregon. As a Bernstein school, we use the arts across the curriculum and are committed to high-quality professional training in the arts. We are fortunate to have Melinda Murdock, 2026 OMEA Outstanding Middle School Music Educator of the Year, as our amazing teacher and director.

Our choirs are:

Sixth Grade Choir

Jaguar Singers, for seventh and eighth grades, is offered by semester. 

Concert choir, for seventh and eighth grades, is offered year-round.

Ensemble is our auditioned, select choir for seventh and eighth grades.
Our ensemble choir performs and competes nationally. Tours have included Carnegie Hall in New York City and the Choral Festival of Gold in Nashville, TN.
